Freckles was our beloved 4.5-pound bunny who quickly captured the hearts of both my husband and me. We adhered closely to her whims, as she seemed almost magical in her ability to connect with people. Unlike most rabbits, who tend to shy away from visitors, Freckles eagerly greeted every guest who entered our home.

Adopted by my husband and I, Freckles established a charming nighttime routine all on her
own. Due to the height of our bed, she would first approach my side each night. I would lift her
up, gently rub her tummy and ears, and give her a kiss before she requested to be placed back
on the floor. She would then dash over to my husband’s side, where the same affectionate ritual
would unfold. Afterward, she would scoot under the bed, her chosen sleeping spot.

During the day, Freckles thrived on the presence of visitors. She loved to sit in my lap,
attentively following the conversations around her, as if she wished to contribute her own
thoughts. This heartwarming nonfiction story celebrates a remarkable little bunny who truly
believed she was human. We felt she longed for a loving home where her affection could be
fully reciprocated.
